Vaani Kapoor (born August 23, 1988) is an Indian actress and a former model.

Vaani Kapoor was born in Delhi, India into a Punjabi family. Her father is a furniture exports entrepreneur and her mother is a teacher-turned marketing executive. She has an elder sister who is married and settled in Netherlands. She did her schooling from Mata Jai Kaur Public School, Ashok Vihar in North Delhi. Later, she enrolled in IGNOU, completing a bachelor’s degree in tourism studies, after which she took up an internship with Oberoi Hotels & Resorts in Jaipur. She later worked for ITC Hotel, before she was signed up by Elite Model Management.^[5] Kapoor got her big break when she was picked through an audition to play the third lead in the Yash Raj Films movie, Shuddh Desi Romance.

Kapoor debuted with Yash Raj in their YRF series called 'Rajuben' as Shilpa Shuklas (rajubens) daughter. Kapoor has signed a three movie deal with Yash Raj Films, and her debut film Shuddh Desi Romance was released on 6 September 2013 to positive reviews.^[7][8] She is slated to act in the Tamil/Telugu remake ofBand Baaja Baraat. She recently signed a deal to endorse Lux range of bodywash Products.^[9]
